Pateadores Individual Development Program (PIDP)

Pateadores designed and implemented PIDP to help us fulfill our number one goal, develop the individual within the team. We have had this program in place for the Academy players for quite some time and have been implementing it over the course of this year as well. Again, while we could have never foreseen the importance of it this year we are thrilled to provide this program for our athletes.

Below you will find a brief description of the program and how it works.
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to reach out to our DOC.

Overview of PIPD

The PIDP is a comprehensive Individual Development Program designed to help the athlete track his progress in the Technical, Tactical, Physical and Psychological areas of development throughout his time in the Pateadores Academy. The PIDP is overseen by the Director of the Academy and by the PIDP Director.

The goal of the PIDP is to provide Pateadores athletes with an opportunity to track and guide their own development with the help of all of the resources that the Pateadores provides including playmetrics app, sessions, matches, classroom activities and more. The idea is simple – have players track what they are doing in trainings, games and classroom sessions, along with coach and data evaluative feedback, then set an action plan along with some personal goals to improve; so that they can be the best version of themselves that they can be in their time with the Pateadores Academy.

The PIDP is broken down into three sections:

  1. Evaluations

  2. Education

  3. IDP’s/Action Plans

PIDP Portfolio

In order to help players track their progress and keep track of all that they have learned we have created a portfolio system.  The PIDP portfolio is a combination of hard copy folder and digital folder that stores all of their information including:

  • Data from all of their evaluations and coach feedback

  • Coach led Team meetings/classroom sessions
  • Individual meetings Individual goals for games and trainings
  • PDP sessions

IDP’s/Action plans

  • Individual Development Plans set by player and coach
  • Action plans to help reach
  •  Notes From staff and player on progress

Staff discussions/individual meetings

Players are also monitored via staff discussions and individual meetings throughout the year

  • The staff meet formally to discuss individual players 2x a month
  • The staff meet formally with players 3-4x a year via in person or video conference

  • The staff use various data to discuss players including:
    • game film, GPS data (U15-19), and evaluation trackers (comparing both player and coach info)

    • a players PDP portfolio

    •  anecdotal evidence different coaches provide from watching the player in training and matches
