Pateadores Washington will be the Pateadores hub for new affiliate expansion in the northwest. Pateadores Washington will be able to assist in club growth, coaches education and player development. Pateadores offers its players academic and college preparatory support as well as a three pronged professional pathway into the next level of soccer through its affiliations with USL, MLS and Serie A clubs. Pateadores Washington will expand these opportunities to players in the Northwest.
Pateadores Washington is also launching Pateadores WA Academy. This will be the elite teams for both boys and girls made up of players from all of the Pateadores Washington clubs. The focus with the academy is continued player development, Development Academy level training and college coach exposure. The goal is simple: give players who want to play in college the right training and right exposure to do so. The academy believes there is a place for every player and it’s up to the staff to help the player understand his or her place and assist in placing that player. The academy team will have access to Pateadores’ DA team coaching staff, seasonal DA trainings, unique academy level camps, access to tryouts for the residential program, intercontinental and international travel and meaningful game play with special emphasis on technical application in a tactical environment.
Pateadores WA Academy is open to any player in the Northwest but aims to partner with Pateadores Washington Clubs to create a path for players looking to advance in the sport. The academy will follow a professional training guideline and mirror the DA experience. Coaches for the academy will meet the DA required coaches credentials and will have college coaching experience.
Pateadores WA Academy will be led by two of the top coaches in the Pacific Northwest, Rudy Lawrence as the Director of Coaching and Chris Gores as Academy Director. Both coaches hold an active USSF "A" coaching license.
Rudy Lawrence brings 19 years coaching experience including 5 seasons as assistant coach at Duke University and two seasons as US Soccer Development Academy U18 assistant coach. Rudy played at Cornell University and Hatha BSC Youth Academy of the Bundesliga in Berlin, Germany.
Chris Gores is the current University of Washington men's soccer assistant coach. Prior to UW he coached at Harvard and Florida Gulf Coast. He played at Stanford University and received his degree in International relations. He went on to play 8 seasons in the USL. He also served as captain of the Puerto Rico Men’s National Team, competing in both the 2010 World Cup qualifiers and the 2005 Digicel Cup.
